Camp News 2011

Camp 2011 is now filed into the pages of our history, but the memories and strength that we gained from it are vividly imprinted upon our minds and souls. There is not enough room on this paper, nor time to tell, the eternal value of all that was gained during this last week.
Speakers and Singers
Daniel and Angie Edwards and family did an outstanding job in ministering to us in music. The mixture of old and new songs, the scripture memorization, the children’s songs…it was all a delight. They truly were used of God to minister to the PNC family this last week.
Prayer Meetings
One of the camp memories that is lingering this week is the early Morning Prayer meetings. I appreciate the great number that gathered in the chapel for the 6:30am prayer meetings. This had a huge impact on the success and outcome of the Camp. Thank the LORD for coming and meeting with us so faithfully.
Special Memories
One of the things that I love about the Pilgrim Nazarene Church family is how they worship in the congregational singing. We nearly raised the roof off of the chapel as Bro. Edwards led us in worship! We must maintain this freedom in worship!
God was faithful to many and they found salvation from their sins and freedom from the carnal mind as they sought God in the many altar services. Sinners found redemption, seekers of holiness found victory and many saints found refreshment for their war-weary souls.
Visitors…will anybody get over the fact that Sis. Lucille King was in the Thursday night service? It was great to see her and hear her boosting in the service and saying, “Hallelujah!” Many others attended and we were blessed to have them.
Another highlight of the camp was the ability to Skype Bro. Johnpaul, his family and the orphans on Sunday afternoon. I did not think it was going to happen, then everything came together and we heard the orphans sing three songs, give two testimonies, a report from Bro. Johnpaul and closed with a prayer by Sis. Sudha Paul. Wow! It was great and I’m so grateful that we were able to pull it off. The orphans had stayed up all night in order to do it. Thank the Lord.
Thank You!!!
- Bro. Mark Russell for helping organize the camp and conference and teaching the Sunday School lesson on Sunday.
- Sis. Carmelita Turner, you are the best registrar that we could ask for.
- Sis. Marie Clough and helpers for doing a great job with our children.
- Bro. Troy Truitt, you are loved by our young people. Thank you for your passion and burden for PNC youth.
- Bro. Jered Gardner for doing a superb job with the audio and recording.
- Bro. Jerry Esparza, you take our camp to another level with live web streaming.
- Sis. Anna Dodd for looking after the camp workers all week.
I’m already looking forward to next year. The dates will be July 29th – August 5th, 2012, in Dickson, TN. We are still working on all the details, but go ahead and make plans to join us next year.
Pilgrim Nazarene Church family, it is now time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. You have neighbors who need God in their life. You have family members that are hungry for what you have. When Jesus comes, may He find the Pilgrim Nazarene Church being faithful. – SRS
